Amplification & Extracurricular Actitivies

Are you involved in extracurricular activities (band, sports, clubs, plays, etc)? Do you use your amplification device (hearing aids/FM/CI) while you are participating in the activity? If not, why not? If so, how do you think it helps?
BTW- Thanks for your comments on my last post:) Be sure to check them out if you haven't already!

  1. I'm on a speech team and FCCLA. I use a FM for hearing. I don't use my FM in Speech or FCCLA because we are in a room and just one person is giving a speech and no one is allowed to talk except for the speaker.I do sit in the front usually so I can hear them clearly.

  2. Hi. I am in volleyball and I obviously have gym class. I was in FCCLA and I will go out for softball. I don't use my FM because I don't need it for volleyball or softball because I might break it. Next year I want to go out for plays but I probably wont use it because I will probably help with clean up during practice while others work with the director.

  3. I use to have no Fm for band but my speech teacher said i have to bring it to band. Sometimes it bothers me because i want to be able to hear my tune when i play the baritone and when we play the song i couldn't understand where i was i sometime had to turn it off and sometimes before band i turn it off so i don't worry about.

  6. I go to dance class but I don't use the FM because I don't have one for dance class, I use BTE in dance class. In fact, minus the hearing aids, I would still be able to hear the drums and my teachers, but I wouldn't be able to hear my classmates and fellow performers.
